Typography and Diacritics.

If you are turning into a typography addict, but have been frustrated by the fact that your favourite font does have Vietnamese diacritics (dau), then you should take a look at DIACRITICS. At the moment, they only have Romanian and Czech members, so I bet they would love to meet someone from Vietnam who would be interested in developing a wider rage of diacritics

Color Combination Chooser

Christoph (http://s3153383.blogspot.com/ found a really nice, convenient tool for putting together colour schemes at Site Pro Central.

The only problem with this gadget is that it doesn't let you combine colours of differing saturation values. But I played with it, and it did give me some excellent combinations.

Here it is:

These are a few of my favorite fonts...

All designers have favorite fonts.

Some of mine happen to be free, too. :-)

Take a look at one of my favorite font foundries who supply some of their nicest fonts for free. Astramat. The site is, unfortunately in Italian - but don't let that put you off - you know a sexy font when you see one and they say that the language of love is universal!

This is one of my very favorites in the collection. It's casual, modern, clean but not too formal.

Brush up your blog

I can't believe anyone would settle for one of those ugly, unoriginal blogger templates that you get given when you first get your blog!

Why would you want YOUR blog to look like anyone else's?

Anyway, there's so many cool ones out there and it's so easy to modify one, or create your own! You've been through COSC2291, haven't you? :-P

By the way - don't you just hate that nasty navigation bar at the top of your blog? It just ruins the WHOLE design.

Get rid of it by inserting the following bit of code between the stylesheet tags:

#b-navbar {
height: 0px;
visibility: hidden;
display: none;
}

Public Welfare Posters

The aim of the poster is not to judge drug users, but to cut down the spread of HIV through needle sharing.

The aim is to be non-judgemental, to acknowlege addicts as humans who have and need friends - and who associate drug-sharing with friendship.

Motion Graphics.

One of the premier designers in the field of motion graphics in the 20th century was Saul Bass.

After exploring this link, see if you can name some film title sequences that pay homage to his style of motion graphics.
